Recipes and the recipe gallery
Your own scripts for new servers, and ready-made ones other accounts have shared.
1Write a recipe
Account → Recipes → New recipe. Give it a name, what it does and a Bash script. It runs as root at the end of a new server’s provisioning, so make it safe to run once on a fresh Ubuntu server.
2Use it
Tick recipes when you create a server; they run in the order shown, and the server keeps the version it ran. Recipes for the servers an environment deploys to are on the environment’s Recipes tab.
3History
Each save keeps a revision, so you can see what changed and who changed it. Make a copy to start a variation.
4The gallery
The recipe gallery has recipes other accounts have published. Read a script before you install it: it runs as root on your servers. Install one into your account, rate it, mark favourites, or report a harmful, broken or spam recipe to its publisher.
5Share yours
Owners and admins can publish a recipe to the gallery or take it out again. When the gallery has a newer version of one you installed, the recipe’s page shows what changed, line by line; choose Update from the gallery to take it, and your current version stays in the history.
