Load balancers
Spread a hostname’s traffic across app servers, skipping any that fail a health check.
1Create the proxy server
Create a server of the Load balancer type. Load balancers come with the Business Deploy plan and above.
2Add a load balancer
Infrastructure → Load balancers → Add load balancer. Choose the proxy server, the hostname, a health check path and, optionally, the website it serves. Point the hostname’s DNS at the proxy server; Caddy gets its certificate.
3Add nodes
Add a node for each app server, with its port and a weight. Traffic is shared by weight, and nodes are reached over HTTP on their public address. Until there are nodes, visitors get a 503 page.
4Take one out
Take out removes a node from rotation, for maintenance for example; Put back returns it. Nodes that fail the health check are skipped on their own.
